Handwritten on verso: "Somewhere in England. Measuring a 20mm Nazi shell along Thunderbolt's nose. It had my name on it but not the serial number. It came in the right side of the office waist high. Looking for a home. This housing shortage. Raid on Stuttgart Germany. 6 September 1943."
