morter our Regiment was for
gard ye rest of ye men went to
work 14 [June 1776] Soon as Day lite apeard
ye Ships Lay all in Site Seven
Ships two brig & three Scooners
by ye Sun half an our high we
began to fire ye Shott & Shels
they made ye Ships tremble
Cut ye admiral yard arm so
it hung Down Shot Some throu
ye Admiral fired at us but cud
Not reach us they wayd. there
ancers and pushd of none of
our people was hurt with them
they blowd up ye Lite hous we came
home ye cannon & musket it roard well
