Thanks so much for your thoughtful letter
following my recent press conference. Nothing
means more to me than words of support and
encouragement from longtime friends and
colleagues.
I particularly appreciate having your experienced
views on the matter of the CIA.
I believe the
Rockefeller Commission was fair and
balanced in
its efforts. Their report, together with the further
reports and recommendations I have requested,
should provide a reasonable basis for determining
what measures are necessary and appropriate to
insure both our national security and the Constitu-
tional rights of all Americans.
