This flag was probably made in Boston, Massachusetts, and was presented to a local militia company known as the “Bucks of America” sometime around the close of the American Revolution. The flag was conserved in 2016.


A flag commemorating the Bucks of America, believed to have been a Massachusetts militia company composed of African Americans and operating in Boston during the American Revolution. No official records of the unit seem to exist.
