Letter from Mercy Otis Warren (1728–1814), in Plymouth, Mass., to Hannah Winthrop (baptized 1727-1790), 3 June 1775, inquiring whether she has settled into her new home, her old home "now occupied by the boisterous sons of Mars," and noting that justice, "which could not be obtained by patience, self denial, petitions, and remonstrances" is "now demanded at the point of the bayonet."
