This is a telegram from Col. William Dwight, Jr. to his family informing them of the death of his younger brother, Lt. Col. Wilder Dwight. Two other Dwight brothers, Howard and Charles, served in the Civil War. Howard Dwight died at Port Hudson, La. in 1863.
