Collection Description
More than 600 photographs of various Massachusetts towns from the 1860s to the 1940s. Subjects include businesses, homes, cemeteries, monuments, and views. Photographs are arranged by city or town. Photographers represented in this collection include Leon Abdalian, William T. Clark, Baldwin Coolidge, Frank Cousins, Samuel Masury, Moulton-Erickson Photographic Co., Edward P. Nostrand, and Harris W. Reynolds, among many others.

Home of the first mayor of Charlestown. Mr. & Mrs. William Harrington (homeowners in 1929) and their dog pose in front of a car chassis placed on the sidewalk in front of the house. The Harringtons put the chassis there so that boys would not jump the hedge in front.
