This collections consists of 6 volumes of portrait photographs, taken between 1870 and 1922, of Civil War veterans who were members of the E.W. Kinsley Post No. 113 of the Grand Army of the Republic in Boston, Mass.
Collection Description
6 volumes of portrait photographs, taken between 1870 and 1922, of Civil War veterans who were members of the E.W. Kinsley Post No. 113 of the Grand Army of the Republic in Boston, Mass. Most of the veterans depicted in the albums served in Massachusetts regiments during the war. Each photograph is accompanied by the subject's autograph and a brief biography of his wartime service. Most of the photographers are unknown, and all of the photos are black and white. The albums also contain some engravings, photomechanicals, and clippings.
