The first list (p. 3–5) is headed "List of Books" and contains notes of the number of volumes of each work; the second list (p. 6–10) is headed "Books purchased at St. Petersburg," 1809–1814, and gives number of volumes and prices paid in roubles and kopeks. Two further lists are headed respectively: "Books purchased at Paris 1815" (p. 99) and "List of Books" (p. 101–107).
Note (p. 100): "List of Books, to be added to those, inserted, from p. 4 to 10 of this Book, and in the preceding page—which together with those packed up in trunks in Boston and Quincy, constitute the Library of J. Q. Adams—a catalogue of which is to be made—7 April 1827"
