    Maj. Samuel Selden (1723-1776) of the Connecticut Militia etched this detailed map of Boston on his ivory powder horn during the Siege of Boston. The map shows the fortifications of the Continental Army just before the British evacuated the city. The inscription reads: "Made for the defence of liberty."
