John G. Grossman sent this bill to the estate of Dinah Hartford for funeral and burial expenses, 3 April 1813.  This is a printed form completed in manuscript and it shows the earliest connection to the Belknap family, as Sarah Belknap signed the bill to indicate that she paid for it.  Dinah Hartford was almost certainly the mother of Mary Hartford, a servant in the Belknap household, who originally kept all of these papers and told Miss Elizabeth Belknap that they had belonged to her (Mary's) father.  The Belknap family was apparently responsible for overseeing the estate of Dinah Hartford.
