This mezzotint after Mason Chamberlain's portrait of Benjamin Franklin, painted in London in 1762 while Franklin served as a political agent for the Pennsylvania legislature, was one of his favorites. Franklin circulated copies of the print to friends and correspondents with the note that it was "the only way in which I am now likely ever to visit."
