The African Meeting House, the site of many early antislavery meetings in Boston, where William Lloyd Garrison and eleven other white antislavery activists founded the New England Anti-Slavery Society in 1832. The New England Society merged with the General Colored Association, an older African American antislavery organization in 1833.
