This collection consists of 38 albumen photographs depicting views of Boston during the 1870s.
Collection Description
This collection consists of 38 albumen photographs depicting views of Boston during the 1870s. Subjects include the Boston Public Garden, Charlestown Navy Yard, and views of Jamaica Plain and Dorchester, as well as five photographs that make up a panoramic view of Boston Harbor and its wharves, taken in 1874 by Augustine H. Folsom of Boston. There is also a series of photos of buildings along Beacon Street, taken by Boston photographer Josiah Johnson Hawes. Most of the photographers are unidentified.
